All-American Medals
It was an incredible weekend for the 7Locks team at the AAU Indoor National Championship meet at the Virginia Beach Sports Center!
We walked away with so many PRs and more importantly, happy athletes!
I am also so proud of the new athletes and families who took a leap of faith and joined us for the National experience. Several walked away with medals and some huge PRs!

Brothers Byford Each Win 2 Individual Golds
William Byford (15/16 year old) and Morgan Byford (13 year old) both claimed the National Championship Titles in both the 1500m and 3K.
William completed his All-American trifecta medalling in all 3 of his events by additionally placing 8th in the 800m.

Morgan set a Meet Record in his 3K with a time of 9:39.48. He also ran anchor for the gold medal 13/14 Boys 4×800 relay team (more on that later), earning him 3 National Championship Titles in a single meet.
Friedman Siblings Are National Champions
Joining the ranks of National Champions are siblings Rafaella Friedman (14 year old) and Asher Friedman (12 year old).

Rafaella won her first National Championship Title in the 1500m and went on to win another gold with her 13/14 Girls 4×800 relay team (more on that later).
Asher won his first National Championship Title in the 3K. He also medalled in each of his 3 races, coming in 6th for the 1500m and 8th in the 800m.

13/14 Girls and Boys 4×800 Set Meet Records

13/14 Girls 4×800 relay of Ophelia Lindstrom, Alice Sheffield, Rafaella Friedman, and Kaitlyn Trombatore set a new meet record with a time of 10:35.08

13/14 Boys 4×800 relay of Anay Sood, Sean Mullican, Cavan Kootman, and Morgan Byford also set a new meet record with a time of 9:13.50.

I must give a shout out to Anay Sood who got 2nd in the 14 year old boys 800 meters. His split in the 4×800 relay would have won the 800 meters!
